The Public Works team has created a 35% design document that it has taken to Caltrans in order to get agreement on the areas claimed by Caltrans that the City agrees to update and maintain. Below are some of the improvements listed in the document.
Bike and Pedestrian Improvements - Add retaing walls between pylons - Remove parking lane - Add bike median - Green Bike lane
To improve pedestrian safety, bulbouts will be added ad Vermont and at San Bruno. The west lane on Vermont will be removed in order to address traffic calming. The GBD waits for the results of the CCG application to create a walkway with sidewalk gardens in that area.
